A Weekend in LA: Your To-Do Food List

In September, Justin and I flew to LA for a quick weekend to record the first song (of a three-part medley) for our first dance. Of course, while we were there, we could not pass up eating all the wonderful LA food.

Here is where we found ourselves:

Breakfast:

Caffe Paraggi: Century, City, LA. We stumbled upon this gem while walking from our hotel to the mall. Yes, we were the only people walking in LA. This small café had a cute patio area and some of the best breakfast sandwiches we ever tasted. It also has a great coffee and lunch menu. If you are near this area, we definitely recommend making a stop.

Brunch:

The Roof Garden at The Peninsula Beverly Hills: Beverly Hills, LA. As you may have noticed, Justin and I love rooftops. So of course, one of the places we wanted to have food or drinks was a rooftop. Luckily, we were near the famous Peninsula hotel that has a garden on the roof. The hotel also has an afternoon tea service that looks awesome. We are definitely keeping it in mind for the next visit. For brunch, we tried the lattes, the Big Sur juice, the Huevos Rancheros, the queso, and the healthy vegetable Frittata. All of the food was fresh and delicious.

Dinners:

SUR Restaurant & Lounge: West Hollywood, LA. Of course, I used to watch Vanderpump Rules, so when we headed to LA, I requested that we please visit one of the restaurants that was featured on the show. We actually ended up visiting three of them, but only had dinner at SUR. The atmosphere at the restaurant is very trendy, the service was perfect, and the food and drinks hit the spot. We shared the Fried Goat Cheese Balls, two pasta dishes, and the Smoked Eggplant Dip.

Soulmate: West Hollywood, LA. Upon the recommendation of Justin's brother and another local friend, we decided to try this Spanish Mediterranean restaurant. The tasting menu looked absolutely up our alley, so we decided to leave the decisions to the chef. We left very happy with our decision. All of the dishes were great, but the paella was the clear winner.

Drinks:

Soulmate and SUR are right near Tom Tom, Pump, and Issima. You should grab drinks at all of these bars. We have heard the food is also very good, but have not had an opportunity to experience it yet.

Dessert:

Interstellar: Near Santa Monica Pier. One of the evenings, we decided to take a stroll in the Santa Monica Pier area. Because we had a late lunch and were not hungry for dinner, we decided that our dinner would be dessert. We stumbled upon this small café and shared a creamy cheesecake and some hot drinks.

We can't wait to go back to experience more of what LA has to offer.
